Analysing the Type of Shot Used:

Front Page:
The camera shots that are used on the front cover page is always a medium close up shot of the anchor artist for the magazine issue. It is well lit providing the main people in the magazine. They are dressed appropriately to the genre of the magazine either rock, punk rock, indie, rap, pop and wear clothes (makeup) that the target market audience would appeal to. The main photograph can sometimes be integrated with the masthead/ title as the image frequently overlaps the title of the magazine. Small images that are around the pages are usually small medium close up shots on similar artists that are related to the main artists that is showcased on the front cover.

Double Page Spread:
On the double page spread the images can be small action shots or landscape photographs that will take up the entire pages. In some examples there is a landscape photograph of the artist that takes up the entire page and the text is typed on top of the photograph. These images usually include up to an entire band or the main artist with a background. If there are any small images on the page they are action shots of the bands/ artists performing or pictures of the album covers.

Analysis of Images:
-
The Images generally consist of a medium close up shot which will then show either the solo artists or a band. It will show them with body language consistent with the style of music they write and perform and the clothes they wear.
-
In a double page spread the image will spread over both pages in a lot of examples and will then have the font/ text typed around the images.
-
It may also have a full body shot of the band/ artists on the contents pages in the centre, generally the same band that is shown on the front page of the magazine.
-
The double page spread that involves the artist's on the front page of the magazine 'Anchor image' will generally be in a more relaxed pose or an action pose. The anchor image shows the band with clear facial expressions and is more focused on portraying the band and their style rather than show them in 'action'. The double page spread will take up more space on the page and will show them either in a very relaxed pose either leaning or sitting against something or in an action pose either singing or performing.
